ROCKWOOL are high-density, which makes them extremely resistant to airflow and excellent at noise reduction and sound absorption.
Roads to airports, railways to tramways, and good infrastructure are crucial to urban life, which can be very noisy. The resulting ground-borne vibration, traffic noise – and not to mention human noise pollution – all have a serious and negative impact on our well-being, especially in densely populated areas.
Protection from unwanted noise can positively affect our physiology, learning capacity, and social behavior. ROCKWOOL are high-density, which makes them extremely resistant to airflow and excellent at noise reduction and sound absorption, meaning that even the nosiest infrastructure sounds quieter.
General Product Information
ROCKWOOL stone wool products are made of basalt, a volcanic stone. ROCKWOOL stone wool products are non-combustible with a melting point of approximately 1000°C. They are particularly suitable for thermal insulation, fire protection and sound reduction or absorption. ROCKWOOL Stone wool is inorganic and contains no nutritious substance. Therefore it will not be attacked by microorganisms. Stone wool will not rot and does not attract vermin. No CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, or asbestos are used in the manufacture of ROCKWOOL stone wool products.
ROCKWOOL Safe ‘n’ Silent Pro is designed and manufactured to achieve excellent acoustic insulation performance in all types of drywall partition configurations as well as for concrete soffit applications. It is recommended to be used for drywall partition applications in hospitals, cinemas, schools, offices, residential and industrial buildings. Selected products in the Safe ‘n’ Silent Pro range are recommended for application in building condensation control of concrete soffits where there are noticeable temperature differences on each side. An example for this would be in car parks and buildings with air-conditioned server rooms, data centers, or cold storage facilities. Safe ‘n’ Silent Pro meets the requirements of Noise Criteria (NC) specifications developed by the ROCKWOOL company. NC comprehensively measures the noise levels of a room and with the use of NC ratings, recommends the desired acoustic comfort level of a room/space. It also has a thermal conductivity (k value) of 0.034 W/mK, according to ASTM C518 standard test method.
